Extractions

Our dentists will examine your teeth and offer you advice on suitable treatments.

Extractions

When there is not enough tooth structure to rebuild or the tooth is severely infected or cracked, the tooth will need to be removed (extracted). Some teeth are easy to remove (incisors) and some are more complex (wisdom teeth).

Our team of trained surgeons can ensure we can remove teeth comfortably and painlessly. The average cost of simple extractions is £130 but can vary depending on complexity.

How long does it take to recover from a tooth extraction?
Typically, it is a good idea to rest for 24-48 hours are you have a tooth removed. After that you should be fine to resume normal activity and the socket would have healed within 2-3 weeks usually.

Please ensure you follow all the advice of the surgeon after the extraction to keep soreness to a minimum.

How painful is a tooth extraction?

The process of a tooth extraction does not hurt, as you will be fully anaesthetised. There will be some pushing and pulling but if you are in any discomfort, please let our team know and we will take the appropriate steps to alleviate the concern.

After the tooth is removed, you will be given a list of instructions to care for the area.

How much does it cost to have a tooth removed?

Tooth extractions cost between £100-200 depending on complexity. For some impacted or buried roots, where surgery is needed, the prices vary between £250-400.

Payment plans are available for this procedure should you wish to spread the costs interest free.

What happens after the tooth has been removed?

After the tooth is removed, it is a good idea to wait 6-8 weeks to allow the gums and bone has heal and stabilise.

After this point there are options of tooth replacement to avoid the adjacent teeth from moving into the gap, such as dental implants, bridges or dentures.
